FRAMINGHAM – Massachusetts’s average gas price is down one cent from last week ($2.12), averaging $2.11 per gallon. , according to AAA Northeast, which has an office in Framingham.

Today’s price is the 4 cents lower than a month ago ($2.15), and 49 cents cheaper than September 28, 2019 ($2.60).

Massachusetts’s average gas price is 7 cents lower than the national average.

“Low demand, even as gasoline stocks decline, has helped pump prices decline or hold steady on the week,” said Mark Schieldrop, AAA Northeast Public Affairs Specialist., in a press release. “That is likely to continue into the fall as the season sees fewer road trips, especially amid the pandemic.”

AAA Northeast’s September 28 survey of fuel prices found the current national average to be the same as last week, averaging $2.18 a gallon.

national average price is 1 cent higher than a month ago ($2.17), and 47 cents cheaper than this day last year ($2.65).
