FRAMINGHAM – Framingham State University tested 518 individuals on September 22 for COVID-19. The results showed one new positive case.
In the last 30 days, the University has tested 3,232 students, staff, and employees, with 18 individuals testing positive for the coronavirus.
The last positive cases for the University were on September 8, after the long holiday weekend. The University had reported no new cases until September 22.
The University’s positive rate for the last 30 days is 0.56%.
The City of Framingham has a 3.32% positive rate for the last 14 days according to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Framingham State University started class Wednesday, September 2.
Only about 20 percent of students are living in dorms on campus, said the University.
And those residence halls are only at 40% capacity, due to the pandemic.
The University’s first case was on August 25.
A total of 1,226 students are taking at least one course on campus, said University President F. Javier Cevallos.
About 15 percent of the University’s courses this semester are being offered in-person, versus 85 percent offered remotely, according to the University.

The University currently has no students are isolated on campus and 2 students are isolated off campus.
The University also has another no students in quarantine on campus, and 5 off campus.
