FRAMINGHAM – In a unanimous vote, the Framingham City Council voted to override Mayor Yvonne Spicer’s veto of the Council’s vote to implement a 9-month multi-family unit moratorium.

The City Council voted 10-1 to establish a 9-month apartment moratorium with a study in August. The lone vote against the moratorium was City Council Chair George P. King. Jr.

On August 24, the mayor vetoed the ordinance. Under the City’s charter, the Council could override the executive veto with a 2/3rd vote of the legislative branch.

The Council voted tonight 11-0 for the override.
