FRAMINGHAM – Police responded to a 5-vehicle crash at Route 30 near Shoppers World on Sunday afternoon, and arrested a Framingham woman.

When police arrived on the scene, the operator of one motor vehicle had fled the scene of the crash, along with one passenger, said Framingham Police Lt. Patricia Grigas.

She was located a short distance away, added Lt. Grigas, and was arrested on a warrant and new charges.

Police arrested at 5;30 p.m. was Karen A. Portillo, 20, of 90A Beaver Terrace Circle at Cochituate Road and Whittier Street

She was charged with operating a motor vehicle with no license, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, racing, leaving the scene of a crash with personal injury, speeding, failure to stay within marked lanes, and providing police with false name or social security number.

A second driver was cited for “unlicensed operation,” said Lt. Grigas.

“She denied driving, (but) witnesses identified her as driver,” said Lt. Grigas.

The “seat was also adjusted for a shorter operator,” added Grigas.
