FRAMINGHAM – Jack’s Abby Craft Lagers and the United Way of Tri-County have teamed up once again to rally runners and walkers to raise funds to support the community at the 5th Annual Jack’s Abby United Way 5K. The race will be virtual this year and is scheduled from Saturday, October 10 to Saturday, October 17.

Participants can run or walk anywhere, anytime, while maintaining safe social distancing, and when finished easily submit their times online. In lieu of awards, participants will be entered into a raffle to win some great prizes! Raffle names will be drawn on Facebook Live, Thursday, October 22 at noon.

All runners and walkers registered by September 21 will receive a custom race tee, and all participants will receive a $7 gift card for a beer, (for those 21+), food or merchandise, at Jack’s Abby Beer Hall and Kitchen, as well as a coupon for hair services at Strands Hair Studio in Natick.

“This brewery is part of a community. 2020 has been a challenging year for everyone, but it is as important as ever to support the local community. This will be our third year partnering with United Way of Tri-County to host the 5K, and while this year may look different, we couldn’t be more excited to be able to work with them again to further the amazing work of this organization,” Sam Hendler, Co-Owner of Jack’s Abby Craft Lagers

Funds raised from your $35 registration fee will help support United Way of Tri-County programs and services in the community. This includes suicide prevention and mental health, early literacy, and hunger relief, all vital services during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We are deeply thankful to the running community and our sponsor Jack’s Abby for their continued support; you’re all winners to us,” said Paul Mina, United Way of Tri-County President & CEO. “Although we won’t be able to run and celebrate together after the race this year, with your support we will continue helping people who depend on our programs, so we all still win! So far 2020 has proven to be a challenge for everyone, from the way we live, work, exercise, and play, to the way we support those in need. Running the Jack’s Abby United Way Virtual 5K on your own time and at the location of your choice makes it simple. Participants can feel good
knowing they are helping community members experiencing a truly difficult time.”
