FRAMINGHAM – Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, most races scheduled for this year have gone to a virtual setting.
The Wayside 5K4Kids is no exception.
The virtual race will be held on Saturday, October 17, and Wayside is using the event as their biggest fundraiser, setting a goal of $100,000 raised.
Funds donated to Wayside will be used for holiday gifts for kids and families, special activities, supporting Wayside’s diversity, equity, and inclusion initiative, and also emergency clothing and food distribution. Wayside uses these funds to support kids and families throughout Massachusetts.
People wishing to participate in the Virtual 5K can register at Wayside’s website, with a fee of $10 for running and a fee of $17 for running and a commemorative T-Shirt.
Registration closes on October 16 at 4 p.m.
Participants may run the equivalent of a 5K anytime in between October 10 at midnight and October 17 at noon.
