FRAMINGHAM – The City of Framingham to shut-down recreational facilities, including basketball courts, and the skate park today, August 28.

In response to the recent uptick of positive COVID-19 cases in Framingham, effective immediately, the City will begin to shut-down recreational facilities, including basketball courts, the skate park, and other facilities as necessary, said the City in a press release.

The lot to the skate park was blocked off this afternoon, and said closed for parking.

These steps are being taken to combat the spread of the virus and discourage people from gathering at the facilities, said the City of Framingham in a press release.

On Wednesday, the Commonwealth said the City of Framingham was one of 9 communities for high-risk for the coronavirus.
