FRAMINGHAM – The City of Framingham’s beaches will close for the season on Sunday, August 9.
Learned Pond beach closed for the season last week, when it failed a bacteria test. It failed multiple bacteria tests this season.
The City’s beaches were FREE this season, for the first time in more than a decade.
The beaches opened for the season late this year on July 1. The beaches typically open in June. Lake Waushakum beach was closed for a good portion of July due to failed bacteria tests.
The City’s beaches are typical open through the third week in August but this year, they are closing earlier.
The beaches were also open fewer hours per day this year. The beaches were open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. In previous seasons, the beaches were open until 7 p.m.
