ASHLAND – Ashland employees rescued a racoon that had become stuck in a storm drain today, August 8.

“A resident telephoned our communications center this morning reporting a raccoon had become stuck in a storm drain on Stagecoach Drive,” wrote Ashland DPW.

“Sgt. Alberini responded along with Paul McGinnis of the Ashland DPW and discovered this little guy lodged in the grate of a storm drain. It took several hours and lots of ingenuity, but they were able to cut the raccoon free from the grate and return it to wilderness unharmed,” wrote Ashland DPW.
