FRAMINGHAM – The Danforth Art Museum at Framingham State University is slated to reopen to its members and the general public later this week after being closed since late March due to COVID19.
“We couldn’t be more excited to welcome our members and the general public back to the museum,” says Director and Curator Jessica Roscio. “We have spent the past several weeks planning for our reopening by strictly adhering to the safety guidelines put in place by the state. We are excited to offer our patrons a safe and enjoyable experience in our beautiful galleries.”
The museum will initially open with limited days/hours of Thursday to Sunday, noon to 5 p.m.

The museum will open to members only on July 30& 31 and then to the general public on August 1.
In order to avoid any crowds, advance registration is required via Eventbrite, which can be reached at Danforth.framingham.edu.
Additional safety precautions include requiring all patrons to wear face coverings and maintain six feet of social distance within the galleries. Hand sanitizing stations have been placed throughout the museum and additional spot cleaning of “touch” services will be done regularly.
The exhibition Family Circle is on view until August 30 (including work by Lisa Barthelson, Jenny Carpenter, Jasmine Chen, Kristen Joy Emack, Lee Kilpatrick, Mary Morazzi-Henderson, and Claudia Ruiz-Gustafson), along with selections from the permanent collection and the Meta Fuller gallery.
Fall exhibitions open September 19 and include: Catherine Smith – A Cabinet of Curiosities; Katherine Gulla – Passage; and Rebecca Hutchinson – Midnight Blooms.
