FRAMINGHAM – MetroWest Physician Services announces the arrival of two new physicians to its practice.  Neil Herman, MD and Serena Young, MD are both orthopedic surgeons on staff at MetroWest Medical Center. 

Dr. Neil Herman is board certified in Orthopedic Surgery.  He has been providing quality orthopedic care to the MetroWest community for 27 years.  His expertise includes sports medicine as well as joint replacement surgery of both the hip and knee. Dr. Herman is an adjunct Clinical Instructor for Tufts University School of Medicine.   His fellowship in Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery was completed at the Orthopedic and Arthritic Hospital.

Dr. Herman has provided care to local teams including the Framingham Flyer Football Team.  As a graduate of the McGill University Orthopedic Program, he also provided care to the Montreal Canadiens Hockey Team. He completed medical school at the University of Montreal.

Dr. Herman provides a full spectrum of Orthopedic Services.  He is focused on delivering quality conservative care whenever possible. When Operative Care is necessary technologically advanced and where indicated minimally invasive techniques are used.

Dr. Serena Young is a graduate of the University of Ottawa Medical School, where she also completed her residency.  Dr. Young completed her fellowship training at Harvard Medical School, Children’s Hospital Boston, working with Dr. Lyle Micheli, and specializing in pediatric and adult sports medicine.  Dr. Young also worked with the Boston Ballet Company.

Dr. Young is a board certified Orthopedic Surgeon, specializing in pediatric and adult sports medicine and general orthopedics.  Dr. Young makes every effort to treat orthopedic problems with a conservative, non-surgical approach.  If surgery is necessary, she uses the latest minimally-invasive techniques whenever possible.
