FRAMINGHAM – Framingham Department of Public Works (DPW) will host its annual paper shredding event, Shred Fest, Sunday, August 2, at the Recycling Drop-Off Center, 255 Mount Wayte Ave., 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Shred Fest was originally scheduled to take place earlier this year, but was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Residents can bring their paper documents to the event to be destroyed confidentially.

This event is open to all Framingham residents with a Recycling Center permit. In place of a permit, residents may donate non-perishable food items or gently used clothing.

“I know how important this event is for many Framingham residents, and the DPW team is happy to get Shred Fest rescheduled to fulfill this important need,” said Blake Lukis, Director of Public Works.

Per Governor Baker’s Order and the City of Framingham’s Emergency Order, face coverings will be required to enter or use any City facilities. Residents are asked to practice social distancing.

Shredding will be performed on-site by E.L. Harvey & Sons, Inc.
