FRAMINGHAM – Framingham Housing Authority Executive Director Paul Landers said today, July 8, National Night Out will not take place in 2020 in the City of Framingham.

Some communities have cancelled their National Night Out for 2020, typically held on the first Tuesday in August.

And other communities have moved it to the first Tuesday in October 2020.

Landers said Framingham’s annual event draws a lot of people. The event is attended by Framingham Police & Framingham Fire. There is a cookout, games, activities, music, and ice cream.

“We were worried about our seniors,” and the crowd, said Landers.

It was decided October may not be safe either, said Landers.

“The safety of our seniors,” is important,” and we would “still have concerns” in October.
