FRAMINGHAM – “Fireworks are illegal in Massachusetts,” said Framingham Fire Chief Mike Dutcher during a summer safety event at MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham yesterday, June 30.

Although illegal, Framingham Police have received scores of calls complaining about fireworks since Memorial Day weekend.

Even something as simple as a sparklers is dangerous, said the fire chief.

Sparklers can reach 1,800°F (982°C).
