FRAMINGHAM – Lake Waushakum beach in District 8 will not open on July 1.

The City of Framingham Public Health Department announced today, June 30, just after 5 p.m. that Waushakum Beach on Nipmuc Road will be closed to swimmers due to elevated bacteria counts.

Signs have been posted at the beach to alert the public about the closure.

The other two beaches Learneds on Lower Shawmut Terrace and Saxonville Beach on Lake Road are unaffected and remain open to the public.

The City’s three beaches were scheduled to open for the season starting tomorrow, July 1.
