FRAMINGHAM – The MBTA announced tonight, June 25, that buses will continue to replace all trains on the Framingham/Worcester commuter rail line between Framingham and South Station through at least July 5.

The announcement came around 5:30 p.m.

The MBTA was installing positive-train control equipment last weekend and then extended the shuttle buses all this week. Now it will be another week.

The positive control system helps trains from derailing.
