FRAMINGHAM – This morning, June 19, the Joseph P. Kennedy III campaign released a video with Framingham Mayor Yvonne Spicer endorsing him for U.S. Senate.

Congressman Kennedy is challenging U.S. Senator Edward Markey for the U.S. Senate seat in Massachusetts. Both are Democrats. A primary election will be held in September and a final election in November 2020.

“It’s not an accident that I’m making this endorsement on Juneteenth. At a moment of profound racial reckoning for our country. At a moment when it has never been more clear that Black Americans need more than just allies –– we need activists, we need white folks who will show up in the trenches to fight with us and for us,” Spicer stated in the video. “That’s why I’m with Joe.”

Last year, Mayor Spicer’s senior advisor Jacquetta Van Zandt left the City of Framingham to work for the Kennedy campaign for Senate.
