FRAMINGHAM – Today, June 17, the City of Framingham announced four new COVID-19 deaths.

In total, there have been 107 deaths due to COVID-19 or complications from the virus.

The City report no new positive coronavirus cases today. Since the pandemic began, there have been a total of 1,705 in the City of Framingham.

Despite the slow down in cases, Framingham is still one of the top 12 communities in the state with coronavirus cases. Framingham ranks 14th in the state for the population.

The good news is 1,388 individuals have recovered, or more than 79%.

In addition to the active cases, the Framingham Health Department currently is following 103 residents in quarantine.

There are more than 70,000 residents in the City of Framingham.

So roughly, 2.5% of the city tested positive for the virus.

The City announced this week instead of daily updates on the coronavirus, it will now only provide updates on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
