1 According to the Mayor’s public schedule, Mayor Yvonne Spicer will hold a community Zoom hour with the Somerville Mayor to discuss the Black Lives Matter movement and next steps.

3. Outdoor dining opens for restaurants in Phase II, of the state’s re-opening plan after the coronavirus pandemic began yesterday. The Framingham License Commission approved several establishments for outdoor dining, pending inspections from the Health department and inspectional services. The first approved was Jack’s Abby Beer Hall.

Those Framingham restaurants that already had patios & outdoor dining before the pandemic may open immediately. Those restaurants that did not have outdoor dining in 2019, and are altering their premises to begin or expand outdoor dining in 2020, will need approval from the City of Framingham.

4. Playgrounds, dog parks, community gardens, sprayparks, outdoor spaces all could open yesterday, June 8, under the state’s Phase II re-opening plan. The City of Framingham did not open yesterday and said it would have announced on a plan on Wednesday.

5. Today is National Call Your Doctor Day.

Bright Pink, a women’s health non-profit, founded National Call Your Doctor Day to encourage young women to schedule their annual Well-Woman Exam. It is now marked on the second Tuesday in June.
