FRAMINGHAM – Firefighters responded to a house in downtown Framingham for a possible lightning strike this afternoon, June 6, as a thunderstorm rolled through the city.

“There was tree and electrical damage to the house, but no fire,” said Deputy Fire Chief Kurt O’Rourke.

Scanner had a tree branch on the house.

“There was a power surge to the house that impacted the electrical system,” said the deputy fire chief.

There was smoke coming from the refrigerator, according to the fire department,

Eversource was called to the house

The incident happened around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
