FRAMINGHAM – New positive coronavirus cases have slowed in the City of Framingham.

Three new cases were reported yesterday, and two new cases, today, June 5.

Since the pandemic began on March 11 in the City, there have been 1,684 positive COVID-19 cases.

Despite the slow down, Framingham is one of the top 12 communities in the state with coronavirus cases. Framingham ranks 14th in the state for the population.

The good news is 1,199 individuals have recovered.

In total, there have been 96 deaths due to COVID-19 or complications from the virus in the City since the pandemic began.

In addition to the active cases, the Framingham Health Department currently is following 140 residents in quarantine.

There are more than 70,000 residents in the City of Framingham.
