FRAMINGHAM – Bottle & can redemption centers, closed during the pandemic, will reopen in June.

Reverse vending machines (RVMs) will open on June 5, with some restrictions.

Over-the-counter returns will re-open on June 19, with restrictions.

Some of those restrictions & guidelines include:

Customers must wear masks.

Bottles and cans must be empty and rinsed out.

Employees must also wear masks.

Centers must post signs reminding customers to socially distance

Center must have 6-foot spacing marked on floors.

There will be an occupancy limit in the Center.

Every other machine should be blocked off.

Centers should create a specific time available to only seniors and high-risk citizens.
