FRAMINGHAM – The The Framingham community is invited to attend and/or join a unique concert experience.

Because the music students from across Framingham Public Schools lost the chance to perform their annual Spring concerts this year, the Fine and Performing Arts Department will be inviting all music students to participate in “Music in Framingham” on Friday, June 12, from 4-4:30 p.m. (Rain date: Saturday, June 13 at 4 p.m.).

This is way for music students’ to share how hard they’ve worked this school year to learn music and become stronger musicians

How does it work?

On Friday, June 12, at 4 p.m., musicians from all over Framingham will grab their musical instruments and play ‘together’, while using social distancing of at least 6 feet apart, on their porches, front steps, lawns, etc. to play “Ode to Joy”.

The music will continue until 4:30 with each musician playing the songs of his/her choice. Anyone who wishes to attend the concert, can step outside and listen to the music coming from various neighborhoods across the city!

The goal is to show the world that From A Distance, Music plays on in Framingham! Students and families will be asked to share photos and videos of their performances on social media using the hashtag #FraminghamFAD2020.

This is a community event and everyone is welcome to play or sing, even if you are not a Framingham student!

The music and lyrics are available in this Google Drive Folder for anyone that wishes to play along.

Please remember to ALWAYS practice social distancing and refrain from coming into contact with anyone that you don’t live with.
