FRAMINGHAM – Pilgrim Day Camp announced all sessions would be cancelled for the 2020 season this afternoon, May 21.

The Framingham-based camp is located at 1 Badger Road.

The main reason for the cancellation is the coronavirus pandemic.

“After many discussion with local authorities and careful review of CDC and American Camp guidelines, I have come to the difficult decision that we can not hold Pilgrim day Camp this summer,” wrote the camp to parents in an email from Jon Kirby.

“I held for as long as I could before coming to this difficult decision. However to be fair to staff and families I could not wait any longer,” wrote the camp director. “It breaks my heart that we can not all be together to continue our summer traditions.”

Families should expect refunds.

Families were told that perhaps the pool could be opened to families this summer or swim lessons, in a way to keep some element of the camp alive over the summer.
