FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham School Committee is seeking applicants for one business community seat on the Framingham Strategic Initiatives and Financial Oversight Committee (SIFOC).
Realtor Darlene Umina has opted not to re-apply for the seat. Her seat expires on June 30, 2020.
The application deadline is Tuesday June 2, 2020.

The SIFOC advises the Mayor, City Council and School Committee on the status of Framingham’s long-range strategic plan, the state of the municipal economy, the sufficiency of municipal revenues, and other fiscal matters referred to it by the Mayor, City Council and School Committee.
The Committee is comprised of nine residents appointed to staggered terms.
The Mayor, City Council and School Committee initially each chose three (3) members in 2019, with the following minimum requirements:
- 1 member with expertise in finance
- 1 member from the local business community
- 1 member at-large

SIFOC members may not hold any other elected or appointed office with the City of Framingham. Committee members receive no compensation of any kind.
SIFOC will report annually to the Mayor, City Council and School Committee and shall file all of its reports with the City Clerk.
