FRAMINGHAM – Donna M. (Collmer) Dumas, 78, resident of Framingham died Wednesday April 29, 2020 following a brief illness.

Born and raised in Watertown, Donna was the daughter of the late Robert & Filomena (Caruso) Collmer, and the beloved wife of the late Peter C. Dumas.

Donna was a graduate of Watertown High School and worked as a secretary at EB Harvey in Brighton for many years. Donna mostly loved spending time with friends and family.  She had a knack for building a beautiful landscape of flowers especially at her lake house in Plymouth, where she lived for more than 20 years.  She truly enjoyed visitors, playing cards, listening to music, and sitting on the deck overlooking the lake.

Donna was a big sports fan.  She never missed her yearly football pool and knew all about the players for her Patriots and Red Sox.  You could count on Donna for opening conversation and meet new people.  She was also a member of the Red Hats Society during her middle years.  She recently moved closer to her family in Framingham and met many new friends.  She enjoyed a good round of bingo and loved day trips to the casino.

Donna is survived by her children, Christine Brouillard & her husband Robert of Framingham, Charles “Chuck” Dumas of Framingham, and Renee Shea & her husband Herb of Chelmsford, 9 cherished grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren, her brother Bob Collmer of Framingham, sister-in-law Helen Belitsos and Catherine Mastacouris.  She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and several cousins. Besides her husband Peter, Donna was predeceased by her daughter Lisa Tocco and sister-in-law, Angelina Scombul.

Due to the current social distance rules, a service will be planned and announced when we are able to gather and celebrate her life.   In the meantime, we will cherish her memories.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in Donna’s name to:  Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org, American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org or National Multiple Sclerosis Society, www.nationalmssociety.org.
