DRACUT – In a split 3-2 vote, the Board of Selectmen in Dracut Monday night, via a Zoom meeting, decided to give the Town Manager job to its current Chief Financial Officer.

The Dracut CFO Ann Vandal had been serving as both the interim Town Manager and the CFO for several months. She will be offered a 2-year agreement.

The Collins Center had assisted the municipality in a search and had announced four finalists earlier this year, including the City of Framingham’s Chief Operating Officer Thatcher Kezer III.

The other finalists are former Amesbury Mayor Kenneth Gray, Groton Town Manager Mark Haddad, and Southbridge Town Manager Ronald San Angelo.

Vandal was not named a finalist, but she told the Lowell Sun newspaper in January she had applied for the permanent position.

Vandal had been interim since former Dracut Town Manager Jim Duggan abruptly resigned from his post in October.
