FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham Cultural Council met on April 29, 2020 and unanimously approved a special grant of $5,000 to ātac: downtown arts + music (formerly Amazing Things Arts Center), to assist in their continued operation in light of the current situation causing them to temporarily shut down. ātac is facing an immediate and permanent closure if they are unable to cover the loss of revenue from cancelled shows and rentals.

The unrestricted Cultural Council grant and will help the campaign to raise additional funds to meet their $90,000 goal and claim a $20,000 matching grant.

The ātac gofundme web sites states that they have recently made changes to provide flexible seating arrangements, fantastic lighting, and great sound. They were about to renovate one of the rooms in the Gallery to be used as a gathering space for artists, community groups, and for youth as a place to get creative. The ātac community is thankful for the artists and arts lovers that have sustained them and hope to keep the arts alive and well in MetroWest! But, they need funds now to continue operation.

The Framingham Cultural Council’s grant will help make this possible.
