WASHINGTON DC – Today, April 18, the United States recorded its 1 millionth case of COVID-19.

World-wide there are 3,091,141, positive COVID-19 cases.

And as of 2 p.m. today, there are 1.093 million cases in the United States.

The U.S. leads the world in coronavirus cases, with Spain a distant second at 232,128 cases. Italy is third with 201,505 cases.

The other countries in the top 12 are: France, United Kingdom, Germany, Turkey, Russia, Iran, China, Brazil and Canada with 50,708 cases.

As of April 26, there were 53,922 death in the United States due to COVID-19 or complications from the virus, according to the Centers for Disease Control.

With more than 17,500 of those deaths from New York.

New York has the most cases of the virus in the United States, followed by New Jersey, and Massachusetts.
