ASHLAND – On a rainy Friday, school administrators from Ashland High School placed signs on the lawns of every member of the of Class of 2020.

Last week, Governor Charlie Baker announced schools would be physically closed through the end of the 2019-2020 school year.

So with parent support, Principal Kelley St. Coeur and Dean of Students Erin Lachapelle and staff distributed signs to all 216 seniors on Friday, including 10 school choice & exchange students.

“We made sure all kids received a sign, regardless of what town they live in.There were approximately 20 AHS staff who delivered the signs,” said St. Coeur to SOURCE.

“I can say that this brought a smile to my face as well as tears to my eyes.  It was so wonderful to see seniors and their families,” said Lachapelle. “We miss all our students so much.”

Ashland High’s principal said “we have started graduation discussions and will be meeting with the class officers for the first time since this was all announced on Monday.”
