NATICK – Sylvia (Sue) M. Allen died peacefully in Mary Ann Morse Nursing and Rehab Center, Natick, at the age of 93, on March 31, 2020.
Sylvia is survived by her son Paul Allen of Framingham, MA, and granddaughters Melanie Allen and Charlotte Allen (of France). She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Louis B. Allen of Sarasota, FL and sons Kenneth Allen of France, and Steven Allen of Binghamton, NY.
Sylvia was born in New York, New York to Manuel and Selina Sierra (of Puerto Rico).
She graduated from Brooklyn College (where she met her future husband Louis), with a BA in Spanish.
Sylvia and Louis both then went to the University of Michigan obtaining Masters Degrees in Spanish and Chemistry, respectively.
Sylvia taught taught Spanish in high school for most of her life, in Vestal, NY. Sylvia and Louis then retired to Sarasota, Florida, where they lived and loved for over 30 years.
Sylvia will be buried in the Bourne National Cemetery, Bourne, next
to her husband Louis.
