FRAMINGHAM – Four Framingham Police Officers have tested positive for COVID-19, according to an email that went to department members today, April 19.

Chief Trask said on Wednesday night his department 10 police officers in quarantine.

The Chief said the quarantine number is a “fluid number” due to the contract tracing protocols.

Last week, the Chief said the virus was having an impact on the manning of the police department shifts.

“We are re-assigning people,” said the Chief.

The Chief said every police officers was assigned a N95 mask, but that department is running low.

The Framingham Police Department has mandated masks be worn in the police station.

“It is recommended officers wear masks and gloves in their cruisers,” said Chief Trask last week.

The officers are supposed to wear PPE when appropriate when responding to their calls, said the Chief.
