FRAMINGHAM – Framingham Deputy Fire Chief Brad Smith has lost his short battle with occupational cancer, announced the Framingham Firefighters IAFF Local 1652 this morning, April 1.
Deputy Chief Smith had 32 years of service to the citizens of Framingham and also served as a member of FEMAs Task Force 1 which included time spent in NY following 9/11.
“Rest in peace Brother, you have answered your last alarm, we’ll take it from here,” wrote the union on its Facebook page.

UPDATED: Due to the health crisis, a full fire department funeral for deputy smith will be held at a later date, said the union.
