NATICK – Margaret “Margie” Spencer, longtime Natick resident passed away peacefully on March 24, 2020.

Margie is survived by her husband Ron Spencer of Marlborough, her son and his wife Ryan and Kellie Spencer of Somerville, her daughter and her partner Shalyn Spencer and Sarah Cahill of Lebanon, NH, and beloved friend, Gerson Soares, also of Marlborough. Margie was the youngest of five siblings; her siblings Edward Riley, Claire McAdams, Joan Dunphy, and Robert Riley.

Born and raised in Brookline Margie was the daughter of Edward and Mary Riley.

She was an alumnus of Brookline High School and later a graduate of Fisher College.

She had a long career with Brown’s Oil as their office manager, helping to run a small family-owned business.

She was married on July 30, 1988, and raised her children with her husband in Natick. Margie was a devoted parent who loved and supported her children into adulthood. She was their biggest cheerleader and never missed a soccer game or sports event. Being a mother was the greatest joy of her life and she was so proud to do the job.

Margie had a life spent devoted to others, as a mother, a godmother, and an aunt. She had a deep love for animals, especially dogs and never missed an opportunity to spoil one. She was patient and generous, working as a personal care assistant for the elderly and frequently giving her time to others. Margie could often be found with a decaf iced coffee in her hand and manicured fingernails.  She was known to many as “The Life of the Party” and had an unwavering sense of humor with a contagious laugh. Margie was also known for her collection of high heels to rival a shoe store. She will be deeply missed.

Her family will celebrate her life through a memorial service when possible.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the Michael Carter Lisnow Respite Center in Hopkinton or the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals
