ASHLAND – Two men, who were out on a boat on the Ashland reservoir were “intoxicated,” when they capsized their boat, according to Ashland Police Chief Vincent Alfano.

By the time they made it out of the water, the two men were suffering from hypothermia, according to officials.

The two men, both in their 20s, capsized their boat about a half-mile from the boat launch just after 7 p.m. on March 24.

Neither individual was wearing a life preserver, when Ashland firefighters had to rescue them.

The two individuals were not supposed to be on the reservoir, said the chief.

There are no charges at this time, but the incident is under police investigation.
