NORTHBRIDGE – Acting Framingham Fire Chief Michael Dutcher said he got a call at 5 a.m. today, March 24, to assist with a fire in Northbridge. Framingham is part of the state’s mutual aid system.
A 3-alarm fire burned through several buildings at a Northbridge lumber yard overnight.

The fire happened at 496 Purgatory Road, located in the Whitinsville neighborhood. The lumber yard is off Route 146.
Framingham sent Ladder 3, with an officer and 3 firefighters, said Chief Dutcher.
