BOSTON – Massachusetts reported its first death from the coronavirus today, March 20, announced the Commissioner of Public Health.

A man in his 80s, from Suffolk County, has died from an illness related to the coronavirus, announced the Massachusetts Department of Public Health

The man suffered from a pre-existing health conditions that put him at higher risk for COVID-19, according to the state.

“Obviously, it is heartbreaking to say, but this is a day we all knew would come,” said Governor Charlie Baker.

As of yesterday, 328 individuals had tested posted for the coronavirus in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

There are 15,219 cases in the United States, with 201 deaths, according to the Center for Disease Control.

There is no vaccine at this time for CoVID-19
