State Parks Remain Open for the Public to Visit

BOSTON – Out of an abundance of caution due to the spread of COVID-19 in Massachusetts, the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) has closed playgrounds and fitness areas located throughout the state parks system effective today, March 18, 2020 until Wednesday, April 1, 2020, at which time the closure will be reassessed.

Additionally, agency managed bathroom facilities will also close today and will be reassessed on Wednesday, March 25, 2020.

Importantly, all state parks across the Commonwealth remain open and available for the public to visit.

DCR reminds residents and visitors to avoid gathering in large groups, maintain social distancing, and practice healthy personal hygiene to stop the spread of the virus.

Governor Baker issued an emergency order prohibiting most gatherings of over 25 people to limit the spread of COVID-19.
