SUDBURY – The Library Director and Board of Library Trustees, in consultation with the Town Manager and Director of the Board of Health, have decided that the Goodnow Library will close from March 16-March 29, announced Library Director Esme Green today, March 13.

“We will be monitoring the situation daily, but plan at this time to reopen on March 30,” said Green in an email. “We know that this is an inconvenience for many of you, but we believe that this is the best way to preserve the health and safety of the public and the staff.  We will remain open during out regular hours this weekend for material pickup.”

During the two-week closing, our book drops will be open, said Green.

If, however, you have been exposed to COVID-19, or are exhibiting symptoms, please hold onto your library materials until you are well and out of quarantine, said Green.

The library will waive your overdue fines and extend due dates. Please don’t worry about fines. This applies even if you simply feel safer staying home.
