Framingham Parks & Rec Hosting 5-Week Adaptive Dance Program

FRAMINGHAM – Framingham Parks & Recreation is hosting an adaptive dance program starting March 21. It will run through April 18.

The 5-week program will be held Saturdays at Fuller Middle School from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. The cost is $25 per Framingham child. Non-residents can register at a higher rate.

This adaptive/modified dance & movement class will incorporate the use of props (parachute, ribbons, hula hoops, scarves, etc.) in order for dancers to be able to expand their own movement and body awareness.

This class will help develop self expression, gross motor skills and give the participant the opportunity to work with teachers and volunteers who will adapt to each participant’s needs.

Dance volunteers will be trained by registered Dance Movement Therapists who will be leading the class.

Trained volunteers will be paired with children on a 1:1 child to staff ratio.

When creating your account, please be transparent with your child’s disability.  This information is only used by the administration to ensure your child receives the proper assistance while in this class.
