FRAMINGHAM – Mayor Yvonne Spicer has nominated District 7 resident Laura Medrano to replace Cesar Monzon on the Framingham License Commission.

Monzon, a former Selectmen who lives in District 3, submitted his intent to not seek a second term to the Mayor in 2019. His term expires in February 2020.

Medrano holds a Bachelor’s Degree in political science and Spanish from the University of Boston. She has a technical certification in Spanish Interpretation from MassBay Community College and a certification in Non-Profit Management from Suffolk University Graduate School of Management.

A lifelong Framingham resident, she speaks Spanish and Portuguese.

Medrano serves as a supervisory partnership specialist for the United States Census Bureau.

The Mayor has nominated Medrano to serve through June 30, 2023.

The City Council has 30 days to act on the nomination. If no action is taken, she automatically joins the Commission.

The 11-member Council recently approved the Mayor’s re-nomination of Adam Barnosky to the License Commission. He lives in District 4.

The Framingham License Commission is comprised of 5 residents, all appointed by the Mayor.

  • District 3 Tiel Doust Wadland’s term ends on June 30, 2022.
  • District 7 Sara Mulkeen Porter’s term ends on February 12, 2021.
  • District 7 Stuart Pologe’s term ends on June 30, 2022.
