METHUEN – Eight Framingham wrestlers competed in the MIAA Division 1 meet over the weekend.

Framingham finished 22nd out of 40 teams earning 38 points.

Two Framingham wrestlers placed in the top 5 and advanced to the all-state meet February 28 and 29 at Methuen High.

Senior captain Nick Crotty finished fourth at the Division 1 meet and will compete next weekend.

Pat Quigley finished fifth and also will advance to all-states.

The Framingham High wrestling team finished third in MIAA Division 1 Sectional meet at Framingham High School, and had eight wrestlers qualify for the Division 1 meet at Methuen High School.

Nolan Zigmont, Connor Flynn, Mario Cruz, and Ian Barney were all 1 win shy from placing, said head coach Eric Delehanty.

Brady “Morgan and (Eddie) Melo dropped their matches but they all wrestled with heart and never quit,” said the head coach.
