NATICK – MetroWest Medical Center proudly has announced a behavioral health nurse from Leonard Morse Hospital in Natick is the latest  Daisy Nurse of the quarter recipient.

Valerie Ebbs, RN from the town of Wrentham has been a Behavioral Health Nurse at MetroWest Medical Center’s Leonard Morse Hospital for 3 years. Val was nominated for this award by multiple patients.

She consistently takes extra time out of her day to meet the individualized needs of her patients, said the hospital in a press release.

“Val goes out of her way to make extra steps with her patients whether this is taking a patient on a walk or sitting with someone while they eat lunch.” said Jeanna Kelly, adult psychiatric nurse manager at MetroWest Medical Center.

The Daisy Award was established by the family of J. Patrick Barnes, who died after battling an autoimmune disease. The family was so impressed with the care and compassion the staff showed Patrick, they started a foundation to honor nurses who demonstrate clinical excellence in a caring and compassionate manner.
