FRAMINGHAM – Police arrested a driver on charges of assault and battery of a disabled individual on Tuesday, February 18.
At 10:25 a.m. police arrested at the police station Gamaliel Negron, 38, of 10 Berry Street of Framingham. he was charged with assault & battery on an elderly or a disabled individual.

He is a driver for First Call Transportation, said Framingham Police Lt. Patricia Grigas.
Negron was “observed by a passerby assaulting the passenger,” said the police lieutenant.
He “struck individual in the face,” she explained.
The passenger is “developmentally delayed and nonverbal,” said Lt. Grigas.

Police are “thankful to the reporting party for witnessing this and notifying us,” said Lt. Grigas.
Negron was arraigned in Framingham District Court, and released without bail.
The felony charge carries up to 3 years in state prison and a $1,000 fine. Under this statute, an “elderly” person is anyone 60 years of age or older.
