Ashland Post Office Needs Major Renovations; Closed Through Mid-Summer

ASHLAND – Major construction on the mold-contaminated Ashland Post Office is needed, according to town officials.

The post office has been closed since November 21.

The Town of Ashland said that the U.S. Postal Service has been completing “minor restoration,” but that major restoration is needed.

That major work is scheduled to start in May and will last about 3 months, according to the Town of Ashland.

The 1939 building at the corner of Main and Summer streets has been closed since before Thanksgiving.

Ashland employees were moved to the Hopkinton Post office.

Customers can still drop mail in the boxes outside the closed post office in downtown Ashland. Post office boxes for customers are now located in Hopkinton.
