FRAMINGHAM – Rosa Altgracia (Camilo) Garcia, 75, of Amsterdam, NY and formerly of Framingham, and the Dominican Republic passed away on February 12, 2020, in New York after a period of declining health.
A loving and devoted mother, she is survived by her husband Anibal Garcia and her children: Rosy Garcia and her husband Rafael Lorenzo of Dominican Republic, Ana Marks and her husband Kevin of Amsterdam, NY, Oliver Garcia and his wife Pamela of Bronx, NY, Rosanty Garcia of Hudson and Clariza Garcia of Framingham. Loving grandmother of 6, Yiraika, Yamilka and Jonathan, Oliver, Amelia, Sophie and Adryan. Sister of Amado Camilo, Efrain Camilo, Antonio Camilo, Lucila Camilo, Andres Camilo, and Fe Camilo of Dominican Republic. Marisela Peña of Florida, Ramona Suriel and Maria Camilo of Massachusetts, and Jose Camilo of New York. Daughter the late Ramon and Santa Maria (Rivas) Camilo.
Rosa was born in the Dominican Republic’s countryside, in the town of Salcedo and worked hard to get an education, even homeschooling herself for the first years of High school.
She worked as a secretary of a catholic school for 18 years while raising her children with the most tender and fulfilling love.
A woman of faith and family. She loved music and flowers, playing games and participating in activities with her family. She was adventurous even after a condition took over her body. Her dreams and desire to see and experience new places never stopped. She was funny and laughed often at herself and with others. She was thoughtful and kind, and always had a positive demeanor and attitude with everyone she knew.
She came to the United States to provide a better future for her kids and worked as a babysitter to support her family until her retirement to Framingham, where she became part of a community that loved her tremendously. Her memories and life lessons will forever be with her kids, grandkids and everyone that knew and loved her, not because of what she said but because of the things she did every day.
Family, friends and others whose lives Rosa touched, are invited to John Everett & Sons Funeral Home Natick Common 4 Park Street in Natick from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, February 16, 2020.
Followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Stephen’s Parish 221 Concord Street, Framingham at 10a.m. on Monday, February 17.
