ASHLAND – The Town of Ashland held a holiday festival before the annual tree lighting and the visit from Santa Claus on Saturday.
The event, held where the Ashland Farmers Market takes place on Front Street, featured, vendors, hayrides from Eastleigh Farm, a sing-a-long with the Girl Scouts, wreaths for sale from the Boy Scouts, hot cocoa and cookies, and a fire pit with marshmallows to toast.
At 4:15 p.m. there was the countdown to the tree lighting and then Santa arrived on a fire truck and stayed for a while to listen to what boys & girls wished for Christmas.
