FRAMINGHAM – The main Framingham Library is closed today unexpectedly.
The Library will open Sunday, said Library Director Mark Contois.
“The old lobby floor removal and required cleaning of the concrete floor base fell behind schedule because there was much more old glue to remove than anticipated. The adhesive build up had to be hand scraped so as to not create an airborne situation as well some extra steps needed for dust mitigation,” explained Contois. “These steps, taken in an abundance of caution, set the project back necessitating the closure.”
Contois said the City’s Capital Projects and Facilities Management Director Jim Paolini has been onsite managing developments in the best interests of the public, staff and library volunteers.
“We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience. We also want to remind our patrons that the McAuliffe Branch Library, 746 Water Street, is open to 5 p.m. today. We anticipate the Main Library opening on time tomorrow, Sunday December 8th at 1 p.m,” added Contois.
