FRAMINGHAM – Framingham Public Schools will have its first snow day today, December 2.
Framingham Superintendent of Schools made the decision at 4:44 a.m. this morning, December 2.
“Kudos to DPW who did a great job, but sidewalks, crossing zones, etc. concern me. I worry that students will be walking on the road in icy conditions where sidewalks aren’t yet cleared. Therefore, I have decided to cancel school today. Thanks for your patience. Be safe,” wrote Superintendent Bob Tremblay this morning.
All schools, before and after school programs, and district offices are closed today, said Tremblay.
ALL Framingham High athletics winter tryouts have been postponed to Tuesday, December 3.
The Christa McAuliffe Charter School is also closed for the day.
Saint Bridget School is closed too.
Keefe Technical High School is also closed. The announcement was made just after 5 a.m.
Framingham State University has a delayed opening at 9;30 a.m.
Ashland Public Schools has a 2-hour delay today.
Natick students already had a longer holiday weekend, as today was scheduled as a professional development day. The Superintendent made the decision last night, before the Patriots game, to cancel the professional development day.
Marlborough called a snow day on Sunday.
