Police: Dog Dies at Framingham Park

FRAMINGHAM – A dog died over the long holiday weekend at a Framingham park, according to Framingham Police.

Police received a call on Saturday just before 11:30 a.m. for a report of a dog biting a man at Butterworth Park at 250 Grant Street.

When police arrived they discovered no one was bitten.

Instead, they found a pit bull unresponsive.

According to the police report, two pit bulls, by the same owner, got entangled in their collars and leashes, and one dog was strangled.

A good samaritan tried to untangle the dogs, and someone thought he was bitten by the pit bulls and called the police.

“No one was bitten,” said Lt. Grigas.

The 3-year old pit bull, owned by a Framingham woman died, said Framingham Police Lt. Patricia Grigas.

The death of the dog was an unfortunate accident.

“The number one most common and fatal collar accident is when two dogs become entangled,” according to Petsafe.net
